Laura Sanderson is the founder of Bright Young things - a networking event for those earlier in their creative careers to learn from one another and collaborate on projects, to bridge the gap between education and industry. She has experience working in a range of agencies across York and Leeds, and has run side projects including setting up a small online shop to produce and sell products such as cards, pins and patches for cancer patients, survivors and thrivers after her own diagnosis with cancer in 2017.
In this episode we chat about the process of finding your feet as a young creative, how it can feel like one step forward and two steps backwards with everything feeling uncertain and imposter syndrome creeping in. We discuss why job titles mean nothing, and how difficult it can be applying for new jobs after being made redundant, as well as Laura's hopes for bringing back more human elements into the world of design and branding.
