This year’s event will see over 160 artists from across York opening their studios and welcoming visitors. This annual event gives a rare glimpse into the creative methods of artists and offers an opportunity to buy work directly from the artists themselves.

York International Shakespeare Festival

The York International Shakespeare Festival (YISF) was established in 2014, and seeks to showcase local adaptations of Shakespeare’s works alongside international interpretations, and to make global Shakespeare accessible to UK audiences from York and beyond. The programme for the 2025 festival is now live! A unique opportunity to see international theatre in York. Come and join us.
Catalan Festival of Books and Roses

Come join us for an evening filled with literary magic and blooming roses! This event celebrates the legend of Saint George (Sant Jordi) who as well as being the patron Saint of England is also the patron Saint of Catalan where this day has been celebrated for 600 years. In 1929 that the Valencian writer and publisher living in Barcelona, Vicente Clavel, organized a local fair to promote books and reading - choosing the date because of its association with writers like William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes. The modern festival of Books and Roses celebrates all things literary and love. Come along to find out more!
